MY SUBMISSIONS AS I X-RAY PRESIDENT TINUBU’S ONE YEAR IN OFFICE.

Today at Radio Nigeria, Garki, Area 10, Abuja on its Click Naija programme, I joined other young Nigerians to x-ray President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR’s administration in the last one year. During the programme, I agreed with the general sentiment that things were tough, but not without telling the discussants and the viewing public that there would be light at the end of the tunnel.

Just like Mr. President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu has consistently admitted that times are hard, but that the pains of the moment are just but temporal, transient and ephemeral; I averred the present situation, however excruciating or exacerbating it may be is a necessary difficult terrain Nigeria must pass through to experience a new rebirth with el dorado in the end.

I went ahead to list some of President Tinubu’s appointees who are making serious efforts at reworking the country for the benefit of all. Prominent among those I mentioned included but not limited to Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, DG/CEO, Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, DG/CEO, Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacchaeus Adedeji, Minister of Interior, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, National Agency for Science & Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), and Ms. Olu Verheijen, Special Adviser to the President on Energy among others.

The programme was quite interesting as the crew listened to my submissions with rapt attention that I had to be given more time to speak than other discussants. I highlighted some of the milestones of President Tinubu’s appointees such as the 36,000 promotions given to civil servants under the Ministry of Interior, the first time since 1986 and just within 5 months of HM Tunji-Ojo. The Skill-Up Artisan (SUPA) programme of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) under Dr. Afiz Ogun, the unveiling of twin documents – National Energy Policy (NEP) and National Energy Master Plan (NEMP) by Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi,  the Wage Allowance, the N50,000 grants amongst other interventions by the current administration.

It’s indeed a beautiful xperience at the Radio House today as I left with a new moniker – the Honourable, given to me by the crew.

Nigeria will be better with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. With him in charge, the poor will definitely breathe!
